Art direction, photography, graphic design and consulting for web, interactive, flash, motion, print, exhibition and environment.
I offer a range of creative services to a broad spectrum of corporate, cultural and editorial clients.
Originally a commercial and editorial photographer, in 1995 I established Iain Claridge Studio — a small, mobile, single-person, freelance communication practice.
Based in Bristol in the South West of England, I am available for consultancy, design or photographic assignments anywhere in the world, calling on the skills of a selected team of working partners for specific projects.
My client list includes; BBC, McCann Erickson, Future Publishing and TV Spielfilm - brands I have worked with include Sony, Budweiser, Smirnoff, Eastpak and Timberland.

Further to my recent print work for Oxford Ceramics, today sees the launch of the new Oxford Ceramics website with design and art direction by me and development by my colleagues at Netsight. Built on a Plone backend, the site is really two sites in one; an exhibition site to promote current and upcoming exhibitions, linked to a gallery site where you can buy beautiful ceramic pieces. |

I was recently asked to provide help with visual design on the new website for Plone, the powerful and flexible, platform independent, open source content management system that has established itself as an ideal solution for intranets, document management and public websites for organisations as diverse as NASA, Oxfam, eBay, The University of Oxford and Novell. |

Just finished work on the new website for Bristol based post-production and equipment hire facility Films@59, in my role as Senior Designer and Head of User Experience for Netsight. My job was to come up with design concepts for a redesign of their existing site and whilst I had to make a few compromises along the way (a prize for the person who correctly indentifies what these were..!) I am generally pretty pleased with the results, particularly since the client has gone away happy, which always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling..!
My technical colleagues at Netsight did a grand job on the Plone based content management system that powers the new site, enabling the client to update virtually all site content themselves. I was particularly pleased with the fact that the finished website is pretty much a pixel-perfect representation of my original design concepts - kudos, you guys..! |
