B&B at the Bauhaus

Bauhaus Dessau B&B

I really must visit the Bauhaus building at Dessau, home of one of the first and most influential schools of design and driving force behind modernist architecture and design in the 1920s and 30s.

Now restored and open to the public as a museum, it is apparently even possible to stay for bed and breakfast in the rooms that used to be occupied by Bauhaus students.

For a pretty reasonable €40 a night you can stay in a double room and eat breakfast in the student canteen, seated on stools designed by Marcel Breuer, giving you a taste of what it might have been like to be a student at the Bauhaus.

Thank you for sharing this. I had no idea you could stay at the Bauhaus! I wish I could have been a student there. The ideas put forward at that place changed the world. I have to go and stay there.
