Daniel Zelig: Herba

Inspired by lab, kitchen and ceremonial tools, Herba, is a 4 piece set designed by industrial design student Daniel Zelig, to provide a functional and aesthetically enjoyable experience for anyone who wishes to extract medicinal herbs from any part of a plant (ie seeds, leaves, bark etc).

The set includes accessories made from naturally finished ceramic, silicon and Pyrex heat resistant glass, placing emphasis on the extracting process, its functional area and natural colours, and comprises:

  • The ‘olla’ for the brewing and infusing of herbs.
  • The ‘lacus’ for tincturing herbs in alcohol or oil.
  • The ‘fumo’ based on the ‘Bain-marie’ for cooking herbs over law heat steam.
  • The ‘cribo’ for separating the extract from the waste.
