—Stacey is an easier way to create a portfolio site. No database setup or installation files, simply drop the application on a server and it runs. Your content is managed by creating folders and editing text files. No login screens, no ‘cms’.

It looks just like the old website some of you will say, but the modifications to my portfolio site, Iain Claridge Studio, are mostly under the bonnet.
I was perfectly happy with the layout and structure of my old site but it was a bugger to update so I have rebuilt it onto a Wordpress based CMS which will enable me to easily keep the new site updated with new work, in addition to adding potential for some additional functionality, that I haven’t fully exploited yet.
The paint is still wet and it’s not been fully tested in Internet Explorer yet so apologies for any bugs you may come across - it sure would be a help if you could let me know of any that you discover. ;)
Kudos is due to Rick Hurst of Olivewood for his help in taming the Wordpress beast.

Further to my recent print work for Oxford Ceramics, today sees the launch of the new Oxford Ceramics website with design and art direction by me and development by my colleagues at Netsight.
Built on a Plone backend, the site is really two sites in one; an exhibition site to promote current and upcoming exhibitions, linked to a gallery site where you can buy beautiful ceramic pieces.

The website of Dutch industrial designer Frederik Roijé is a pretty amazing combination of shop and company showcase in one elegantly laid out site, with lots of scripted scrolling goodness.

Cargo is a creative publishing platform developed by Folkert Gorter and Josh Pangell, the guys behind quality projects such as Space Collective, Good Magazine and Newstoday. Unsurprising then that this is a good looking product with a strong emphasis on design, layout and typography.
Currently undergoing beta testing by invitation only, here are some examples of what you can do with Cargo…

Thanks to FormFiftyFive for the heads up.
In addition to my work as Senior Designer and Head of User Experience at premier Plone consultancy, Netsight, I also offer cost effective web and user interface design services on a consultancy basis to small companies through my freelance design practice Iain Claridge Studio.

Grid-A-Liciousâ„¢ is a WordPress theme made by Suprb.
Making use of the jQuery javascript framework, posts are placed in chronological order within a special grid format. This layout can be seen in action at design blog sites, Reform & Revolution and TypeNeu and in Marcus Eriksson’s portfolio site, Subdisc.

Nice use of WordPress in the portfolio site of Six and Wearitwithpride operative, Darren Firth.

I am liking very much the way international branding and digital agency, Moving Brands, have built their new website on WordPress.
It’s a particularly nice example of the use of a blogging platform to build a portfolio site and you can even download the Moving Brands WordPress theme from the site.
