ic! Berlin, famous for their screwless, laser cut steel eyewear construction, and used truck tarp bag makers, Freitag, have collaborated on a range of Trucker sunglasses available in two models ‘Dirty Lyle’ (mirrored) and ‘Spider Mike’ (matted) in tribute to Sam Peckinpah’s 1978 truckin’ masterpiece, ‘Convoy’ with Kris Kristofferson.
Daniel and Markus Freitag, inspired by seventies aviator shapes, designed the sunglasses in addition to the unique sleeves cut from used truck tarpaulin.

Loving these sushi inspired print ads for Issey Miyake’s Pleats Please line of clothing, created by Taku Satoh Design Office.

Loving the work of Swiss studio, Mixer, including these business cards for a percussionist handstamped onto used drumheads.
I am also liking their website with it’s neat little grabbable tree menu navigation.

This military style heavy boot, from Rick Owens, represents to me what a big, bad ass boot should look like. Made of black on black waxed suede, on a thick ridged vulcanized rubber sole, stitching and laces, I love it’s matt black, raw and understated looks. But ÂŁ769.00 for a pair of boots…? Sheeeesh..!
Fortunately I still have my matt black, waterproof nubuck Timberland boots which I bought around 15 years ago for ÂŁ120, look much the same (in fact even better now that they are all worn in and gnarly) and are still going strong today.

I really like the print, identity and web work of Buenos Aires based studio, DHNN (Design has No Name). Everything from the TDR influenced work shown here, to the more mainstream design work in their folio, has the same tight and clean signature style.

Here is just a taste of the stunning selection of images to be found in the book – Apollo: Through the Eyes of the Astronauts, produced by NASA to mark the 40th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins of Apollo 11, on July 20th 1969.
