MUJI, in association with the German furniture maker Thonet, has reinterpreted the classic steel furniture created by members of the Bauhaus school of design in the 1920s, with it’s new range of tubular steel furniture.
Minimal in construction and design, the cantilever chair was created with the image of ’sitting on air’ in mind. The desktop is made of MDF board to simplify the colouring process. The cost has been kept low and the methods used have been selected for their minimum impact on the environment.

A quick plug for a simple single page web presence and logotype I have just created for a hairdresser friend of mine, who is offering a bespoke wig cutting and styling service she calls Wigilicious.

She is paying for it by way of free haircuts, so given the fact that my crowning glory is rapidly getting more threadbare I think she got a pretty good deal..! ;)

Spanish designer Roger Arquer has created a lamp that uses condensation to diffuse light from the bulb.
Dramprom is a light where the lampshade is created by water condensation. The light bulb is placed in a recess inwards to the main body of the glass – outside the sealed container, with no access to the water inside the lamp. The heat of the light bulb creates its own condensed lampshade inside the container, creating a soft diffusion of the light.
The condensation sticks on the interior of the glass, when it becomes too condensed, drops start to fall. These drops will eventually become again condensation, creating a never ending cycle.

Liking very much the photographs of Jolijn Snijders.

The FAIYATORIKKUBOBUs (Fire Trick Bobs) is a real rocket bike from RINTENDO, with a rocket turbine engine that spins at a rate of 120,000 RPM producing the equivalent of 4.4 horsepower.
Unfortunately they would appear to have sold out, despite it’s one million yen price tag (about $10,000).

Stunning photography from Jason Koxvold.
