Laura Strasser’s porcelain pendant light, 14%, uses the normally bothersome characteristic of the porcelain’s firing process: the shrinking of 14%, to inform it’s appearance.
Her bunch of pendant lights is composed of nine lampshades – each shade a reproduction of the previous one, which is in turn produced from a cast of the preceding one. Through such a sequence, the shades become continually 14% smaller and the ‘14%’ brandmark less distinct.
