The D3 duffel, double passport pouch and utility pouch from SDR Traveller are all made from Cuben Fiber – a waterproof, lightweight and highly durable laminate, made from non-woven UHMWPE . Four times stronger than Kevlar at around half the weight, its ideal for ultralight outdoor and mountaineering gear.
Starting out a little stiff, this durable fabric can be crinkled or rolled up without losing structural integrity and takes about three solid trips for the material to reach a crumpled, lived-in state.
Petzl Ange S carabiners connect the D3 strap to the duffel and with no visible branding, the outer zip pulls include a pebble from Kyi Chu (སྐྱིད་ཆུ), a river that starts in the Chenthangula Mountains in Tibet and flows through Lhasa before its confluence with the Yarlung Tsangpo.
There is, however, a but… and it’s a big but… it’s the price…
$985 is a crazy amount to pay for a duffel bag. :/
