Porter x ISAORA Canoe Pack

Made in Japan by the legendary bag maker Yoshida & Co., this Canoe Pack from ISAORA, in collaboration with Porter, is inspired by the ‘Poirer Pack’, a bag that was designed in 1882 by French-Canadian Camille Poirier and said to be the basis from which most modern day backpacks evolved.

Originally designed to be used in the American wilderness, thick canvas and a flat square shape made them popular with those traveling by canoe because it meant things inside stayed dry and an even ballast at the bottom of the canoe improved stability.

OK… so it’s expensive but then for every bag sold, $200 will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross as part of the ongoing tsunami relief effort.
