British Steel Logo

British Seel Logo

This iconic logo designed for British Steel by David Gentleman cleverly represents two sheets of folded steel and can be replicated on site using a ruler and a set of compasses based on the diagrams and measurements set out in the sixteen-page style manual. Sadly the logo was abandoned when the company merged with Koninklijke Hoogovens to form Corus Group in 1999.

Go to Eye Magazine and read the full fascinating story about this logo which was designed by Gentleman in a hurry after another design practice’s work was rejected by the client.
