Spheres by Arnaldo Pomodoro.
“What motivates me to make the spheres is breaking apart these perfect, magical forms to expose their internal machinations, revealing something mysterious and alive, grotesque yet pure. In one act, I free myself from [the limits of] absolute form. I break it down but in doing so, multiply it. To me, the work thereby embodies optimal continuity: not a simple response to consumption, but rather the need for discovery that we all share and that industrial mechanics fails to satisfy.”
