The amplifier, named for the world’s largest metropolis, was designed for the top floor suite of the hotel sequence MIYASHITA PARK (located in the center of Tokyo) to create the site-specific soundscape.
The amplifier utilises various primitive materials such as clay, glasses and solid metals to take the audience on a journey to a new sensory experience. The steel casing has been coated in a natural clay render with a rough texture. In the housing are several glass vacuum tubes and a custom-made circular heatsink (comprising 400 copper cooling pins) taking on the appearance of a desert landscape. For spaces where art and daily life coexist, Puddle Sound offers the custom-made amplifier, including architectural acoustic design (only 15 limited-edition models will be available).
