Shōji Hamada bottle vase

Shoji Hamada

I’ve just had the heads-up from those fine purveyors of ceramic art, Oxford Ceramics, about this stunning Shōji Hamada bottle vase, available now from their website. The vase has an ash with kaki glaze and iron brushed stem leaf motif and comes in a fitted wooden box with signed lid.

This is an important piece, originally given as a gift from Hamada to Stella Coe (famous for Ikebana in Japanese department stores and the only recognised master of Japanese flower arranging outside of Japan) and comes with full provenance.
