Don’t make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don’t hesitate to make it beautiful.

Hi ! Please don’t feel obligated to publish my comments. I just thought you might enjoy a little background for such a breathtaking and visually befitting design piece.

This was, in fact, a compositional collaboration between Alva Noto (aka: Carsten Nicolai) and Ryuichi Sakamoto, two equally renowned musicians/composers who were invited to participate in the 400th anniversary celebration of the city Mannheim. Similar to other projects from their previous collaborations, the result is a synergetic mixture of electronic and natural sounds, and thereby symbolising a form of ‘Utopia’ (hence ‘UTP_’ in it’s title).

The package contains the live concert on dvd, the audio cd, a full colour booklet, and even the score! I highly recommend buying it If you can find it. (Heh, heh.)
